Do you ever feel like life is just moving way too fast? It was so refreshing to be in Wyoming with family for a few days recently. I had time to do nothing at all, chat with my mom, and hug my family. It was such a blessing. Now that I'm back in DC, everything is back to whirlwind mode, and I'm already exhausted. I enjoy DC life immensely, but I don't feel like I ever have 2 feet on the ground at the same time. Where is the slow-motion button?!
Maybe that's why I like lazy Sundays so much. It's time to just enjoy the world around me without having to run around in it. Time to think about where I want to go, the things I want to do, how I feel about my job, talk to my family and friends, finish a book... anything. Speaking of books, my current read is "Eat, Pray, Love". It's about a lady named Liz who is feeling sad about her romantic life, wants a better relationship with God, and LOVES to travel. Sounds like... me! Only I would have trouble choosing just 3 places to spend a year. Instead of Italy, India, and Indonesia, I would probably choose Brazil, Greece, and New Zealand (with stopovers in Tuscany to see their sunflowers & eat gelato and South Africa for surfing. If I had all of my limbs in tact after surfing with the sharks, I'd go to Nepal to hike the Annapurna Circuit).
On a completely different note, there are huge rallies of various sorts planned in DC tomorrow. The city will be swarming with people. I think I'll go for a walk and spend the rest of the day at the pool. It's still summer- barely- and I'm not tan. What the heck?!
Spaghetti for dinner tonight? I had it for dinner the last 2 nights and for lunch today, but I think I can manage one more bowl. Or maybe a PB&J made with chokecherry jelly my mom made. Mmm! Hope you have a good weekend ahead, too.
Love Always.
